The Drawing of the Three was the best, IMO. Wizard and the Glass was great too...not sure if it was the book itself that was awesome, or if it was just great to read The Dark Tower again after so many years of waiting for the next one to come out.

I actually really liked the last one too, seems I'm in the minority on that. A lot of people have complained about the ending, but I thought it was pretty much perfect.

Just finished "Killing Yourself to Live" by Chuck Klosterman...I quite enjoyed it though I think "Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs" is better. He has some pretty interesting views on life saturated with pop culture.

The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt. Great book. If anybody has any interest in Teddy this would be the book to read. It's the first of 3 on his life and it goes all the way up to his Vice Presidency.

Finished Under The Dome...it was amazing. Great book, kept me reading throughout the 1000+ pages.

Last book I read was Magic's Price by Mercedes Lackey. I'm always sad when I finish a series, and then it was a bittersweet end to boot. Oh well, I was warned.

I was working on Ender's Shadow, but I've been distracted by video games lately. I go through phases.

I finished The Jungle for my AP US History class, what an awful book. It was basically one gigantic straw man argument against capitalism. Upton Sinclair makes the classic mistake so many have and will continue to make by not actually understanding what capitalism is. As for story, it was pretty good until the end when it got totally polemic and the politics tank and ruin it. It's certainly an interesting book to read for the historical influence it had but expect to get riled up if you are at all a fan of capitalism.

Thunderstruck by Erik Larson...fantastic novel about Marconi and the scientific race for wireless telegraphy, which eventually led to the radio. Second storyline a gross murder and investigation by Scotland Yard. Loved it!

I just finished Jonathan Kellerman's When the Bough Breaks and found it to be a pretty solid mystery. I'll probably be picking up his other books from time-to-time.

I just finished Lord of the Flies. What a disturbing read.

Am starting "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." It's a long read but I've always been fascinated with that period in history. Anything WWII, I'm on it.

All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris. Great read, as are all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels.

Anybody read "I hope they serve beer in hell"?

I've read most of the blogs on TuckerMax.com, and thinking about getting the book.

Just saw this thread and thought I should promote my moms books on here. She is an author and has two of her own books.

Three Finger Brown

http://www.amazon.com/Three-Finger-Mordecai-Brown-Story/dp/0803218885/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1282411886&sr=8-4
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5376771518&ref=search

Mordecai Brown was a cousin of my mom's, an old cubs pitcher back before baby ruths days. Hall of fame pitcher who because of an acident only had 3 fingers! It's a great story, involves the mob making threats to him trying to throw games etc.

Brigid of Ireland

http://www.amazon.com/Brigid-Ireland-Historical-Cindy-Thomson/dp/082546112X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1282412083&sr=1-1
http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Brigid-of-Ireland/134573176557321?ref=ts
Haven't read this one yet, I know shame on me. But everyone I know loved it, fiction book about some Irish saint. My girlfriends mom read it in one day, not a short book. She just liked it I guess.

This is also my mom's facebook.

She just lost her sister, she was only in her 50s. It would cheer her up maybe if her books got some more hits. green grin
